Back, Neck & Headache Pain Chiropractor in Frederick & Hagerstown, MD | Vital Alignment
The everyday pain that quietly runs your day — the stiff neck, the aching low back, the headache that shows up every afternoon. Most of it traces back to how your spine is moving.
What it is
Neck, mid-back, and low-back pain usually isn't one dramatic injury. It's accumulated load: hours at a desk, a mattress that stopped supporting you, an old strain you worked around until the compensation became the problem. Joints stop moving through their full range, the muscles around them tighten to protect the area, and the whole segment turns irritable.
A large share of headaches are musculoskeletal in origin — cervicogenic headaches referred from the joints and muscles of the upper neck, and tension headaches driven by much the same pattern. When the upper cervical spine moves properly again and the surrounding tissue lets go, that referral pattern often settles with it.
Treatment starts with finding where motion is actually restricted, not just where it hurts — the two are frequently different segments. From there: specific adjustments, soft-tissue work for the muscles that have been guarding, and simple exercises so the relief holds between visits.
