1. Who we are
This website, vital-alignment.com (the "Site"), is operated by Vital Alignment Chiropractic LLC, doing business as Vital Alignment ("Vital Alignment," "we," "us"). We run chiropractic offices at:

This policy explains what information the Site collects when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website only.
2. This policy is not our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices
If you are or become a patient, the health information we keep about you (your records, treatment, billing and insurance) is protected by federal HIPAA law and Maryland law. That information is covered by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which you can request at either office or by calling us.
This Website Privacy Policy does not replace or change that Notice. If the two ever seem to conflict about your health information as a patient, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
3. Please don't send us health information through this Site or by email
The Site has no contact forms and no patient portal. It does list our email address and phone numbers.
Please do not email us details about your symptoms, conditions, injuries, medications, or insurance. Regular email is not a secure way to share health information. To talk about your care, call the office or tell us in person. Anything you choose to send by email is sent at your own risk.
4. Booking appointments happens on Jane, not on this Site
When you click "Book" on the Site, you leave vital-alignment.com and go to our online scheduling system, which is run by Jane App (Jane Software Inc.) at vitalalignmentchiropractic.janeapp.com. Our booking address, vitalalignmentchiropractic.com, forwards there.
Information you enter to book (such as your name, contact details, date of birth and reason for visit) is collected in Jane's system, not on this Site. It is handled under Jane's own privacy notice (https://jane.app/legal/privacy-notice) and, once you are our patient, under our Notice of Privacy Practices.
We do not place this Site's analytics or advertising tags on the Jane booking pages.
5. What the Site collects
We don't ask you to create an account or fill in a form on this Site. The following is collected automatically when you visit:
How we've limited tracking. We set up Google's tags with ad personalization signals and Google Signals turned off. The Site does not build remarketing ("retargeting") audiences, and it does not send Google your name, email address, phone number, or anything you type. There is no Facebook/Meta pixel, TikTok pixel, or other social-media tracking pixel on the Site. The links to our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn and YouTube pages and to our Google reviews are plain links. Those services only collect information if you click through to them.
Pages about health topics. Some pages describe specific treatments and symptoms (for example, sciatica or auto-accident injuries). Like any website analytics, our tools record which pages are visited. We use that information only in aggregate, to understand which pages are useful and which ads work. We do not use it to identify or profile individual visitors, and we do not treat a page visit as information about your health.
6. Phone numbers shown to visitors from our ads
If you reach the Site from one of our Google ads, the Frederick phone number shown on the Site may be temporarily replaced with a Google forwarding number. Calls to that number ring straight through to our office. Google uses it to tell us that a call came from an ad. Our Google ads may also show a call button that uses a forwarding number in the same way.
For these calls, Google may report information to us such as the date and time, how long the call lasted, whether it connected, and the caller's area code. If you'd rather not use a forwarding number, you can always call us directly at 301-696-8888 (Frederick) or 301-791-5900 (Hagerstown).
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. The Site uses:
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics (for example,
_ga), which count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. - Advertising measurement cookies from Google Ads (for example,
_gcl_au, and_gcl_awwhen you arrive from an ad click), which let Google connect an ad click to a later "Book" click or call. - Browser storage used by Framer to make the Site work (for example, caching and language preference). This is not used for advertising.
Google Maps and YouTube may set their own cookies when their content loads or when you play a video.
8. Your choices and opt-outs
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, the Site honors it by turning off Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies (analytics and advertising storage) for your visit.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The Site still works without them.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Manage how Google uses your information for ads: https://myadcenter.google.com.
- Learn how Google uses data from sites like ours: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Ask us directly. Email or call us (section 16) to opt out of targeted advertising or any sale of personal data. We'll honor the request as far as our tools allow and explain what that covers.
- Avoid the forwarding number by calling the numbers in section 6 directly.
9. How we use information
We use Site information to run and secure the Site, understand which pages and videos are useful, measure whether our advertising brings in calls and bookings, answer your emails and calls, and meet legal obligations.
10. Who we share it with, and advertising
- Service providers that run the Site and our tools on our behalf: Framer (hosting), Google (analytics, ad measurement, maps, video, fonts and email), and our marketing agency, which builds and manages this Site and our ad campaigns and sees aggregate analytics and ad reports.
- Legal and safety: if required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect rights, safety or property.
- Business transfers: if the practice is sold or reorganized, subject to this policy.
Advertising measurement. We don't sell your personal data for money. We do use Google Ads measurement (section 5), which lets Google observe activity on the Site so that it can report on our ads. Under some privacy laws, including Maryland's, this kind of sharing may count as "targeted advertising" or a "sale" of personal data even though no money changes hands and ad personalization is turned off. You can opt out using the choices in section 8.
11. Your rights under Maryland law
Maryland residents may have rights under the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act, including the right to:
- confirm whether we process your personal data, and access it;
- correct inaccurate personal data;
- delete personal data;
- get a copy of your personal data in a portable format;
- opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
To make a request, email Vitalalignmentchiropractic@gmail.com or call 301-696-8888. Please don't include health details in your request. We may need to verify your identity. We'll respond within 45 days, and may extend that once by another 45 days if reasonably necessary, in which case we'll tell you why. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. We'll respond to an appeal within 60 days. If you're not satisfied with the outcome, you can contact the Maryland Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.
For requests about your patient health records, please follow the process in our Notice of Privacy Practices instead.
12. Security and retention
We use reasonable measures to protect information, and the Site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No website or email system is perfectly secure. Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics settings and under Google's policies. We keep emails as long as needed to respond and to keep reasonable business records. If a security breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by Maryland law.
13. Children
The Site is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Parents and guardians book and communicate on behalf of minor patients.
14. Links to other sites
The Site links to Jane, Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for their practices.
15. Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we'll post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date.
